City of Torrington

Torrington gets state grant for trail along Naugatuck River-By Ben Lambert/Register Citizen

City of Ansonia

The City of Ansonia will be beginning work on Segment 8 of its Riverwalk. This segment will cross over the rail line and end at Pershing Drive in Ansonia. Currently it just stops with nowhere to loop back around. There have also been talks to add a bike/pedi trail through the downtown for segment 9

The Naugatuck River Watershed Association

The following are Proposed Projects and Activities for 2016.  NRWA plans to work in concert with the DEEP Wildlife Division, Boy Scout Troop 140 Oakville, Junior ROTC  Naugatuck High School, the Borough of Naugatuck, Trout Unlimited N-P Chapter and Will Cummings riverfront property owner and Chairman Naugatuck River Greenway in Thomaston.  

Projects include:
River cleanups Linden Park by ROTC  NHS—Spring & Fall
ROTC — Gunntown Park — Blue Bird/Tree Swallow House and Butterfly Projects
Bee Shelter Projects throughout the Watershed
Blue Bird House Projects —Thomaston Greenway
Butterfly and Bat Houses Projects along the river

Eagle Scout Project (Michael Christie) — Bird and butterfly houses and river bank clean-up in Waterbury
